Teen Dies After Being Trapped In Pool Drain

LEXINGTON (AP) - A Lexington teenager has died five days after being trapped underwater.
The Lexington Herald-Leader reported Monday that 14-year-old Kiah Milsom died Friday at the University of Kentucky Hospital.
The coroner said the girl suffered a brain injury caused by a lack of oxygen after her arm was sucked into a drain at the bottom of a condominium complex swimming pool.
The coroner estimated the teen was submerged for about 20 minutes before rescue workers freed her.
The victim and two friends - also 14 - were swimming in the pool around 4 a.m. on July 20 when she became trapped.
Police charged the other youths - a boy and another girl - with criminal trespassing.
